Let it be- Does size matter?

Ive been quiet.  Letting my hair just be. Ive not done any more styling mainly because I havent gone anywhere.  I get my first retie on the 7th.  I got a private message this week questioning my locks. My grid..everything. I was advised maybe I don't have sisterlocks due the size of my locks and the grid.  I know she used the SL tool. I saw her with it several times.  We talked about my grid due to the sparsity of my hair I wasnt too hung up on precision.  Now....I dont know.  This person said if I were to go to another SL person they would most likely wouldn't not be able to do anything unless they took them down. This was honestly the whole reason for picking SLs.  I want to be able to go to someone specific.  I have horrible luck with beauticians, hair braiders...ect.  Only one in Dayton has ever been on point with skill and profession. I am never going to be a DIYer. I wanted to be able to find a SL person and trust that they would know what and how to do my hair.  Having SL would make that easier than trying to find random locticians with random skills.  I know I need to have a with my trainee. Until then I am just torturing myself.

I haven't done anything to my hair.  Trying to let it just be.  I haven't taken many pictures.  Its hard to get good detail shots of hair!!  Here they are though.

1 week down

Ive washed it and rolled it and twisted it.  So far so good.  I even wore it down.  My kojack dome caused a mini panic attack but Im over it.  Im taking my vitamins. My hair will fill in.  I just gotta let it be.  I'm just gonna post some pics of the week.

Day 6 Twist out

I did a simply twist out last night and damn if it didnt turn out cute as could be!
The plumber came early so I didnt have time to fully separate or anything but still!!!  Its almost pinup-ish.  Next time I will add one or two more twist in.

My trainee stopped by yesterday with my sisterlock shampoo and lots of goodies.  She said a 3 pattern is looser but the holes means she didnt rotate tight enough or something.  She'll come back and fix them.

Day 2 Closer inspection

My first public outing. The polar bear and I went to see the move Belle.   I misted my hair and put 6 flexing rods in overnight. I pulled most of the sides and front back today.  While I was rolling I noticed a few locs with  holes and odd kinks in them and loose hair.  I think she simply didnt notice that last one.  We were dead tired.  I'll text her Monday with the pic and to let her know I need the starter shampoo she was supposed to stop by.
Now that Im in the club I started re-reading all the blogs Ive been stalking with a new eye. I need to talk myself off the ledge.  Mine dont look as crisp and sharp as others but I also told her I didnt want them skin tight because I LOATHE the scalpiness and asked her to do what ever needed to be done to help that out given my fine hair and troubled crown.

My hole-y locs.  I cant find the loose hair again.  LOL

Long time no see!! Ive got Sisterlocks!

My last loc was installed at 9:30 last night!!  I dont even know how many hours over 2 days. 15-20 hours.  I have no clue how many I have.  I think its a reverse 3 pattern. Due to my thin fine hair and my almost bald spot I asked my trainee to modify my grid as needed for best coverage.  Im going document my journey for my own vanity and for others with similar hair.  I struggled for years for other women with thin fine hair.

Mom, I Love you. RIP 1-9-2004

8 years ago today I did the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my entire life.  I had to leave my mommy in the hospital knowing I would never ever touch or see her again. Very rarely do I think about that day. A moment I knew without a shadow of a doubt that I would break in a way that I would never fully recover from.  I can still feel the terror when I realized that the nurses weren't going to take her body away but I was going to have to actually stand up and walk out of the room..with her still in it.  I wish no living being to ever have to experience that.  Yet while I cant imagine anything being harder I have also yet to experience anything more beautiful than the almost tangible serenity and peace of my mom passing away. Ever the diva, she would come to if only to make sure her hair was brushed and her skin was properly lotioned.  She left this earth the same way she came in....a beautiful ray of sunshine.

I left my mother's side only one night the 9 days she was hospitalized. After the first few days of trying to grasp what was happening there was nothing to say but I love you. I said it every time she looked at me...over and over until she would blink or squeeze my hand.  Every time I thought she might be able to hear me, I would whisper it in her ear.  I even woke her up a few times just tell her.  Not that I didn't think she knew because I know she did but it was all I had left. Those three little words were all I had and I wanted to imprint them on her spirit...I needed her to take them with her. Those three little words were the only thing that got me out that room. I chanted them in my mind with each step away. They were my very last words to her and her very last words to me.  They are the only words I would kill to say to her just one more time.  She's been gone 8 years and I still cant say it enough.
I love you momma.

8 Herbs & Oils that Promote Hair Growth

http://bglhonline.com/2011/11/8-herbs-oils-that-promote-hair-growth/2/
I wanna try this one;

Wheat Germ/Aloe Vera/Coconut Milk
Mix 1/4 cup of wheat germ, 1/4 cup of aloe vera and 1/4 cup of coconut milk and use this product as a natural shampoo. Aloe vera can be purchased at drugstores and herb shops and can also be applied directly to the scalp as it will open pores on the scalp that may have previously been blocked and will allow the hair follicles to grow. The American Indians also used and continue to use several kinds of oils to promote hair growth such as emu oil, rosemary oil, and mustard oil.
